This is probably a post you’d expect from a five year old but I really love homemade peanut butter. It’s super easy to make at home if you’re inclined to do so.
I like knowing what’s in my food as much as possible so making something as easy as peanut butter is a no-brainer for me.
All you need are: Roasted peanuts (or any nut, with or without salt), oil (I used sunflower oil) and honey (if you like it sweetened) and a food processor. My niece uses a blender and said it works well but I haven’t tried that method.
Here’s how to make homemade peanut butter:
Dump the roasted peanuts into the food processor.
Pulse the peanuts until they are mostly broken down – less if you like it crunchier.
With the processor on, add a couple tablespoons of oil and more as needed so it blends well with the nuts.
Add honey to taste. I like it a bit sweeter so I add two to three tablespoons. Taste between tablespoons so you don’t over sweeten it.
Blend until it’s the consistency you prefer. Transfer to a glass container and enjoy! I leave mine in the refrigerator and eat it like ice cream anytime I get the urge. Enjoy!
