I’m almost 4 years into this and I’m still finding a lot of interesting things around the property. The families who lived here previously left tons of trash as well as cool little treasures. I’ve been in a constant state of property clean up since I moved in. Getting things done takes a lot longer when you’re solo.
The original owner dumped a lot of 1940/50s saw mill equipment, including a very heavy (unmovable) trailer that a cedar tree has grown through. I’ve found a satellite dish, old soda bottles with their stamps, piles of bricks, cast iron pots, kids toys and lots of other random items.
Yesterday, while snake hunting, my father and I were looking under old wood piles and I unearthed two vintage dinnerware items. The first is a small mint green plate with a Stetson stamp on the bottom. It appears to be from the 60s and is nearly mint condition.
The second item is an old Fiesta bowl. The stamp on the bottom appears to be from 1950-1959. It’s mint condition.
You never know what you’ll unearth on an old property. My property isn’t old by any means and yet I’ve been lucky enough to find several useful items and many fun little treasures.
