Y’all, this simple recipe works, and fast.
In a shallow ramekin or pan pour enough apple cider vinegar to fill up to between 1/2 inch, up to an inch. Add two drops of liquid soap (more for a larger pan – but not a lot) and gently mix together.
Place the ramekin or pan in the vicinity of the pests. They’ll be drawn to it in droves, and quickly!
Last week I was ill and didn’t take the garage trash out. Yesterday, when I opened the garage door to take it out there were thousands of fruit flies and a lot came into the house. So gross. The below picture shows two ramekins with the above recipe. The top image was left overnight – the bottom ramekin had been out 30 minutes.
Important to note: Fruit flies don’t just come from fruit – vegetables, dog or cat food, trash, rot or sewage and even indoor plants can harbor and help replicate these pests – so make sure all of these items are removed, contained or, if in the case of indoor herbs – you’ll need to set these traps occasionally or deal with them directly in the soil – but don’t add vinegar of any kind to your indoor plants – it can kill them.
Hope this simple recipe helps!
