There’s a lot to love about this lifestyle. It involves all the senses. From home cooking filling the house with goodness to the wind blowing through leaves, soft textures of nearly everything from textiles to fur and feathers. All these things tend to slow life down a bit. You appreciate more.

While I love all these things my all time favorite is getting affection from the animals. I had my Disney-like fantasies about mutual love from the animals but what I discovered is that in many ways my fantasies paled in comparison to real life. When you have animals who have their own free will seek out attention and affection, choosing to be near you it’s an amazing feeling. Love and trust between species is a beautiful thing. I wish everyone could experience this.
